Art has become for me "therapy". I can celebrate happy occasions or work through sad or difficult times by creating art. I love creating special art for others. I often use old family pictures in my pieces and enjoy telling the stories associated with them. I love to laugh, am very sentimental, and cry more happy tears than sad ones. Loyalty, honesty, and sharing good things with others is important to me. I enjoy seeing all the new art of artist friends and am learning something new every day! Laughing makes better wrinkles on your face! When I started my blog (See Blog link at right), I chose the Divas D'Este's "Little Nun" as my profile picture and always receive fun comments about it!! Only a small sampling of my artwork is on this page. Their titles can be seen when you hover your mouse over the picture. You can find more of my artwork listed under the Diva's Gallery Page and then click on the Customer Gallery link at the top of the page and find my artwork listed under my name. Digital Art and Mixed Media Art Bio:. I began rubber stamping in 1992, scrapbooking in 2000, and ventured into mixed media art in 2000. My educational background and career were in Business and Industrial Management but I did have the opportunity to study Western European Art History in College. As a Mixed Media Artist I have completed the following certified art programs:
* Claudine Hellmuth's Collage Discovery Workshop. My passion for Digital Art prompted me to begin learning on my own. That was followed by a lengthy and indepth Digital Art Program--"Stepping Stones Through Paint Shop Pro" (SSTPSP). I graduated from the program in 2009. I am a self-taught rubber stamper. On the search for a new hobby, I stumbled across cardmaking but it was on the discovery of rubber stamps that the hobby became a passion. When I joined a Yahoo stamping group I started to participate in swaps such as ATCs, Deco swaps, etc. Although I started to stamp in 2006, it was on joining this group that I realised there was so much more to learn. In December 2009, I set up a Blog. Prior to that I was very reluctant to start a Blog but thankfully, through the encouragement of friends, I took the leap and have not looked back since. In 2010 I joined 2 DTs and was also a Guest Artist for a challenge Blog. This year I have had work published in Somerset Studio, The Stampers' Sampler, Take Ten and The Stampers' Sampler Catch-up. My style is vintage, focusing on favourite themes such as femmes, travel, and dressmaking; these are the themes I like to constantly re-visit. Although I label myself as a rubber stamper, in the past year I have delved into Mixed Media and Altered Arts and I am also beginning to work with digital images in my artwork. For me, crafting is all about experimenting, challenging myself and having fun and learning all the time! The added benefit is "meeting" friendly crafters along the way Visit my blog listed at the right. The names of my artwork below can be seen by hovering your mouse over the picture. My name is Daphne, I live in The Netherlands together with my boyfriend, my Siamese cat Mango and my old dog Teddy. I work as a nurse with elderly people, and loving that job. I have been crafting now for about 1.5 years. The first card I made was a 3d card of a Chinese scene. I'm still learning, and developing myself through my journey of this amazing hobby; it is sometimes overwhelming! Seeking, finding and getting new inspiration everywhere! It's endless…
